The area we’re studying covers about 6km². It’s about 6km West-South-West of Cork City and bounded to the North by the L2222 between Curraheen and Maglin Bridge and to the South by the L 2230 between Jimmy’s Cross and Ballymah.

The area is in the 2km grid squares of the Irish Grid Reference System W66D and 50% of the southern portion of grid W66E.
